5.0 out of 5 stars A+ highly recommend I have a pup and this is a great option for being able to watch her in her room while she gets acclimated. Night-vision is the clearest I’ve ever seen for a security camera. Great audio and video quality. There isn’t any feedback if you use the voice call when you’re a room over or close to the camera along with zero lag response. App works perfect with no issues.Only thing I’d love is a wider color variation for these cameras. I had to purchase a “skin” so it won’t stick out like a sore thumb with my wall color. (lol)

Pointing it far away, the pixelation isn't that great. If you're using it for a room that's relatively small or medium sized, then you will like it. I don't like that it does not connect to the nest app because the nest app I feel was better than Google home. I wish they didn't sell the company to Google as I don't believe Google customer support is as good as Nest was. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for security and parenting. Purchased these and a few outdoor cams for security. With the Nest Aware subscription, we have 10 days of full 24/7 recordings. We can pull instant replay on the kids when they misbehave. We can speak to them when they are on other rooms. The cheap subscription cost for the upgraded features make it easy and cost-effective to expand coverage. I'll be placing these on price alerts for additional future purchase. Great image and sound quality. Fantastic recognition features. Great image angles. Quality hardware. There should be no complaints from reviewers. 5.0 out of 5 stars Does not work with ADT Camera worked well on google app. Unfortunately, will not work with ADT app unless you purchase same camera or doorbell from them. They will link you with virtual tech and add about a $10 monthly charge per item to your ADT bill. They will not monitor camera as this is an invasion of privacy. I understand. Then why the upcharge? 3.0 out of 5 stars Won't link with Google Nest! Motion capture only. Cons: I cannot set up this camera with the Google Nest app! This means I cannot have continuous recording. Shame on Google for this false product. It works just fine with the Google Home app however it only records movement. I have two animals so it goes off all the time. I can only use my phone to view and control the camera. Not a big deal for me but may be an issue for others. The camera is bulky and obvious. You will have to work to hide it.Pros: I can watch it live if I want. It does have great picture and night vision. The mic is great. It picks up a lot of sound. I can also speak through the camera.Overall: It will serve my needs to check on my animals and record anyone breaking in my home. Good for motion capture. Would not recomend for continuous recording. Great camera quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars As good as any Nest cam, does not work well with Alexa I used to have a Dropcam Pro back when Nest bought Dropcam. Then, of course, Google ended up buying Nest later. I had moved to Eufy, and Eufy had some disastrous privacy issues leading me to switch back to what I know the best, Nest..err, Google.I got it hoping it would work well with Alexa (Amazon Echo Dot) to notify me of person alerts, etc, as Google had finally created an Alexa Skill. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The Alexa skill is limited, and can only send out alerts if unrecognized motion is detected. If the camera detects a person, even if not a familiar face, it will not notify Amazon/Alexa. This was not at all what I expected. The only way around this would be to turn off person detection and use motion detection, but that would be a considerable downgrade, and I paid a lot for this camera to get what it offers.I won't be the first to say this, but if you are used to the Nest app, do not expect the same experience using the Google Home app. Google Home app is much worse, even on Android. I'm not too fond of it, and they need to do more updates and overall UI changes for it to be usable. 25 people found this helpful

Mejor de lo que pensaba porque sin contratar el servicio de almacenamiento en la nube es más que suficiente porque va grabando igual gratuitamente en la nube, durante las últimas tres horas, todos los eventos cada vez que registra el movimiento de una persona. Y cuando uno necesite guardar un video concreto simplemente se descarga y se guarda en el teléfono. Para lo cual simplemente hay que estar atento a los mensajes automáticos e instantáneos que la cámara enviará al teléfono cada vez que detecte el movimiento de una persona. Por lo tanto las 3 horas entiendo que son más que suficientes salvo de pronto para la noche en que uno duerme más de 3 horas y podría perderse la grabación de lo que ocurrió en las primeras horas de la madrugada. Solucionable si uno se va de viaje y quiere estar atento al interior de su casa deja las notificaciones audibles en el teléfono y con estar atento debería ser suficiente. El kit de instalación es suficiente y correcto y tal vez la crítica que pueda hacer está relacionada a la gran apertura de imagen que tiene pero que justamente por ello va en desmedro de la nitidez de las mismas en los bordes. En definitiva con una sola cámara se puede tener la vigilancia de un living grande. Insisto que lo mejor son las notificaciones instantáneas de eventos que envía Google al teléfono. Cualquier persona que se introduzca en la casa quedará grabada en la nube y la cámara enviará la notificación al dueño para que pueda descargarla y tomar las acciones que correspondan. Por más que un posible ladrón desconecte la cámara no evitará que la imagen ya haya sido guardada en la nube durante 3 horas y que el propietario reciba la notificación para estar alerta. 5 people found this helpful

3.0 out of 5 stars Great smart software, cheap cam that lacks basic functionality I purchased both the Blink pan and tilt cam and this Google Nest cam and have decided to go with the Blink and return the Nest.1. I love everything Google but I gotta say that they dropped the ball with the camera functionality. Apart from it being 3 times more expensive than the Blink the quality isn't great and the camera is totally stationary. I don't know why Google has an aversion to moving cameras. Even their top tier cams cant swivel or pan. The quality also doesnt look as crisp or clear as the Blink. The camera itself just isn't as good. It's difficult to find a proper position for it where its out of the way but captures everything.2. The software is very smart for this camera and is hands down the best feature. It can arm/disarm itself simply by tracking your phone GPS and seeing when your home or away. It can recognize faces and strangers. It's awesome in that aspect. It's just very unfortunate that the software is tied to what may be the worst cameras I've ever seen.3. The cost, wow these cams are very expensive and a hard sell for 100 dollars compared to the Blink which is only 30 and is arguably the better camera even if the software for the Blink is ten times dumber.

I love the Nest/Google ecosystem and it's really easy to set up. I also got the Nest aware service to store video history. I don't have have much experience with other camera companies but this is honestly so good that I haven't had to look for others.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great camera, terrible audio at times though The Google Cams are typically pretty good and this one is no exception. The picture is clear and the detection is good. My main issues is with the audio on the cam, but that also may be due to the app as well. There is sometimes a delay when trying to access the cam. It'll tell you that motion is detected, but when you try to catch it live, it'll sometimes say this video isn't available yet. It's not a thing that occurs all the time, but the fact that it happens at all is disappointing. I use the cam in the house to communicate with my kids when i'm not home sometimes as well and the audio can be terrible at times. Sometimes they can't hear me or I can't hear them no matter how loud I may have my phone turned up. Also, the audio doesn't seem to work to well when you have your phone connected to a Bluetooth device like your car radio, and you are trying to speak and listen to things. Again, this could be caused by the app though. It would have gotten 5 stars, but because of this I had to take a star away. 9 people found this helpful

Unfortunately I didnt know that in illinois one of the features of nest aware, familiar faces, is illegal in illinois where i live so that was a huge let down. For that I knock off a star, id recommend they update somewhere and list that very plainly to avoid aggravated customers. Other than that does what its supposed to. 5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this if you watch with an echo show I have tried and returned so many different cameras after Amazon discontinued their Amazon cloud cams. We use our cams as surveillance to keep an eye on our autistic son. We have an echo.show in every room to watch the cam if needed. Every brand we tried, except Ring, would have a 6-8 second delay. Even the blink cams had a lengthy delay. Also, every cam would stop showing after 10 minutes.I never thought to try the Nest cams because I assumed they wouldn't be compatible with Alexa. Once I saw that Amazon connected to Nest, I purchased the new Outdoor Nest cam. I was surprised to find out the delay was only 2 seconds and it kept showing on the echo show until I told it to stop showing. I've now purchased two indoor Nest cams to replace my Ring cams.

I use it to monitor my young child and it has a really nice night vision view with clear picture. (I had to get something to replace my Amazon Cloud Cam, which they stopped supporting.) It came with a month of premium service, and now I just have the free account with three hours of memory. The picture quality is excellent, even at night, and the colors are bright. It was easy to set up.My issue is that it does not detect or record my cat walking around the house. Even when I had the premium service with more storage, it never recorded a single motion incident with my pet. It detected and recorded my petsitter, but not my cat. So basically I can see a live feed of my cat if he happens to be in the room with the camera, but no recordings from earlier in the day.I also had to turn off sound recording because it caused a feedback whine. And the green "on" light is extremely bright. Overall it's a good camera, but I miss my Cloud Cam. 11 people found this helpful

4.0 out of 5 stars These are probably GREAT cameras, but I am so mad at Google. This May, Google dropped support for all of the Drop Pro camera line. I had four of them. Google sent us two free replacements but we needed two more to maintain the coverage we wanted. These cameras were fairly easy to set-up, have a better range than the old Drop Cams and seem sturdy enough. However, for Google to just make all of the Drop Cams obsolete is disturbing. The Goolge Home app is not great either. I liked the Nest app better. It was more direct. There are many other camera options on the market. Unless you are tied to Google for some reason already, look around. You may find a better offer. 15 people found this helpful

2.0 out of 5 stars No longer supported by nest app, only 3 hours saved I have four Nest cameras and they are all of superb quality day or night. I also have Wyze and Ring.Wyze is great as it allows 24-hr viewing but what used to be free is now $1 per month per camera and the quality is unacceptable. After a couple of years, the cameras are useless in the dark - literally pitch black images. So clearly, the infrared sensors are gone.Ring is good, but there is always a delay, even on wired cameras. It is slow to pick up movement and only captures the tail end of it. The image quality is also less than ideal as there is a lot of artifacts which are not on the other cameras.Nest - hands down, the best image quality day or night and a great Nest app allowing notifications for key moments but also the ability to rewind and watch events from days earlier. This is so handy. Once I spotted a driver hit a tree outside but was away so I didn’t notice it for a few days. No problem with the old Nest.But any new Nest camera doesn’t work with the old nest app. Only with Google home app and it only gives you 3 hours of history, which is useless. I mean, if something happened during the night, by morning the 3 hours is already up. Completely useless. And now I’d also have to open another app to see this one Nest camera plus the Nest app to see my old cameras.Return in progress. 2 people found this helpful

3.0 out of 5 stars Low quality The camera quality is very low for the price. It’s only 1080P and is very fuzzy around the edges of the lens. Looking outdoors, license plates are not legible from more than 30 feet away during daylight hours and I can’t even see my birds in their bird cages clearly 10 feet from the camera in dim lighting conditions. Very disappointing for the price. Looks nice though.

So it's a little bit of a pain, because I have 2 other Nest cameras which I have to use the Nest app for and then when I want to see what's going on in this camera, I have to open the Google Home app...and I haven't yet figured out how to get notifications for this camera/Google Home app for when it detects motion...

3.0 out of 5 stars Video not as sharp as I hoped, and just cannot use it against a window after dark. I bought this camera to monitor our pool water level while travelling. It is installed upside-down in a window frame with the camera lens about 1.5 inches from the window glass, and set to flip the video 180 degrees. It works well in daylight. The 6 foot+ cord is long enough to reach a power outlet below the window while having the cord following the window frame (instead of just dropped straight down over the glass), and Google included a flat wall plug for the USB cord.I'm happy enough with the camera that I won't be replacing it. There are several things that, together, made me at least consider returning it though.1. The camera will only rotate video 0 or 180 degrees. That means you cannot mount it on the side of something and have the video rotate 90 or 270 degrees. This seems like a silly software limitation that Google should correct. At some point. Hopefully.2. Mounted close a window, night vision is totally useless. That's because the infrared transmitter to assist with night vision reflects off the window, making the video appear completely gray at night. As my intended use is to monitor water level in my pool, this is only annoying. If my intended use was to monitor an exterior door thru a window, this camera would be a no-go.2a. Humorously, the camera interprets reflections in the window, and if it decides it's a person it issues a person alert. So we get "people alerts" from the pool camera when people move around inside the house.3. The video has about a 165 degree field of view, and it is clear when not zoomed. You can zoom the video but it becomes pixelated pretty quickly. Don't use this camera expecting to look at small details that are 20-30 feet away.4. This camera DOES NOT work with the Nest app. At least they tell you this on the web site, so I knew it before buying the camera. Fortunately my Nest doorbell and my Nest thermostat also work with the Google Home app, so I've almost abandoned my Nest app. I say "almost" because I haven't had time to figure out how to get my Nest Aware subscription activated in the Google Home app yet. Just sorta too many bumps in the road.I just reset my wifi router and now i have to manually reset all the cameras to factory default and again set up each one individually. I have some mounted up and now need to get a ladder to get up there. Its not a great camera nonetheless. It's well buit but at the end of the day. Having to save a STICKER PAPER QR code for the rest of my camera's life is really bizzare (i have them all saved but which is which? IDK!!!). Why couldnt the camera just scan a QR code on my phone through the app? Wouldn't that link it straight to the app?I've very confused and already invested. It works great when it is up and going but damn. If you must be google then its great sincs well with everything. The fee is decent compaired to others but just idk... would love to see this just better. Maybe its the next generation of these?

The app is kind of clunky - I was expecting something a little more sophisticated from a company like Google. When the lights are off the camera has two red lights that light up, which I found weird and annoying. I wish I could turn those off but I can't figure out how.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good product but could not migrate from Nest After acquiring the Nest company some time ago, Google recently announced they will no longer support the original Nest cameras. So I ordered 2nd generation Google Nest cameras to replace the original. I thought it would be an easy upgrade, but it wasn't.The Google Home app is very easy to use -- if everything works. But while trying to install the new Google cameras I repeatedly got a message declaring I could not migrate from Nest.After researching the Google Nest users forum, I learned Google would not allow Nest migration from G-Suite email users, which I am. Since I wanted to replace the old NEST cameras anyway, I disconnected all the NEST cameras and closed my Nest account; then waited 24 hours for the deletion to propagate.Unfortunately, I continued to get error messages declaring I couldn't migrate from NEST even though I had deleted the account. After trying everything I could think of, I gave up and returned the Google Nest camera.The Google Nest camera looks like a well designed product, but Google doesn't make it easy to migrate from Nest, at least for me. However, the second day I’ve had it none of the videos will load and say “video not available please check back later” but they are deleted before they ever even load. How ever due to requiring a monthly nest subscription to be useful beyond live viewing, I feel there is better options. A lot of friends have various wayze cameras that achieve just as much as nest cameras but for much cheaper. I would only recommend these cameras if you intend on buying additional google smart home products. Motion detection often picks up my small dog and alerts me to "person detected" which is a frustrating alert to receive multiple times while away. It does have facial recognition that is surprisingly accurate.

3.0 out of 5 stars Video quality is bad compared to cheaper options and other nest cameras I have the nest door bell, and 2 outdoor cameras. I had wyze for indoor and been looking to have everything under 1 ecosystem, but the wyze camera quality is much better than nest for the indoor one, no complaints about the outdoor ones.Also, the newer nest cameras do not work on the nest app! Please be aware of this when purchasing, the cameras only show up in the google home app which is a hassle because you have to navigate to the videos rather than just seeing the video stream on the nest app.Only decided to keep this because there is a home app on web browser so you can check the video stream online at work or have the screen pulled up if you are looking for something.

4.0 out of 5 stars Be aware of cooling time for notification Edit: the device has a cooling time for next notification once it sends notification. It doesn’t seem to be too long but I wish there was a user customization for this. Other than that it works pretty well. So I am adjusting from 2 -> 4 starsI have tried all I can do until now. notification to iphone is very unreliable. Out of 20+ trials it sent me an notification only once. Event has been recorded if that was a person even though I have activation motion too. Motion event sometimes works but most of the time it misses. This is not how I was expecting from Google.
