4.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Set of Cans, But Not 100% Big Head Approved I'm in radio and after almost 15 years my Sony MDRs finally died. I have some industry friends who raved about these, so I decided to give them a shot. Overall, I think they're a really decent pair of headphones, but they aren't the most comfortable pair for people with a large head like mine.PROS:Sound quality is amazing. The earcups are spacious.I really enjoy the cord options that come with the headphones.CONS:Clamping force is definitely noticeable for larger heads.I wish the headband was more flush to the head. These stick out in an awkward way above the earcups. 4 people found this helpful

3.0 out of 5 stars good sound, terribly uncomfortable and annoying to constantly have to adjust These headphones are great headphones and probably worth the money if your head is smaller and your ears are average or smaller, otherwise these headphones are very uncomfortable and painful to wearPros: good sound, bass is good for closed back headphones, long wireCons: If you have a big head these are incredibly uncomfortable and sometime even painful, the top pad is very thin and presses on your head painfully, the ear pads are small so if you have slightly larger than average ears these will always 100% of the time sit on part of your ears sometimes causing pain. headphones are foldable, which also includes trying to fold themselves while being worn, sometimes the ear pads will straight up roll themselves over while you're wearing them causing pain and being generally annoying. 7 people found this helpful

4.0 out of 5 stars It’s cool It’s cool pair of earphones but I honestly wished I bought a different pair. That’s not saying that these are bad but idk I wish I got a different pair. These are still good nothing outrageous and they seem to be sturdy enough to last a few years.

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't need it, now i love it Works well. I was going to return it because i no longer needed it but i decided to try it out and now its my main headphones. i personally wasn't getting enough sound out of them so using something like Voice Meter to adjust for that worked fine!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great with hearing aid These headphones are fantastic. They don’t make my hearing aid feed back and the sound is great. I did get a separate mic to use with these so I can use them for video calls. They do start to press on my ear a little after a few hours but it’s worth it to have headphones that work so well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Overrated Simply overrated.Archaic software suite. Bad controls. Meh head-feel. Sound is fine, not great. Mic will randomly turn on to hear your own voice even when not selected as mic output. Cannot be used by their software management tool. This is a mid-level headset being sold for premium with a large amount of shill backing. 3 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this metallic orange headset Super comfy. Comes with a pouch for storage and several cables. I use primarily for piano practice. Works well with my electric Yamaha piano. RCA jack is sturdy. No sound pops or crackling. Better yet, doesn’t disturb the ones around me and makes it easy to practice any time of the day or night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overall it is way better than my old 70 dollar headphones These are the most expensive headphones I have ever purchased and once I put them on I get lost in another world and time flies by. 1.0 out of 5 stars Awful for gaming and music These give a treble that is harsh mess. Even previously tolerable pings in games became harsh and jarring like an alarm clock. The Bass has the reverse problem. It is muddy nothingness. The mids ended up being an amalgamation of the 2. The best way to describe it is distorted. One person found this helpful

2.0 out of 5 stars poor engineering on the line in. Tbh they over charge for these. They should be about $100. I have the wireless and the wired ones. The wireless have done me fine, and I got the wired ones to game with. On par with your typical $100 headphones, but not worth the extra money. The line in on the wireless is obviously a try and be fancy part, but tbh its just annoying. just let me use the same chords that came with the wireless with the wired, and adjust your MSRP to fit the quality. Audio Tech is usually good about this, but on this one it is a miss. 2 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars True non-enhanced sound, good price I was looking for headphones that did not change or enhance the actual sound of what I was hearing, be it live, recorded, general music listening, etc. etc. These seem to fit the bill,... very reasonable and simple to charge and use. So far I really like em 👍🏼. 3 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars A very versatile classic gets an upgrade I've been a fan of these headphones for 6 years now, using the original wired ones since 2016. These have a great sound to them, and have the exact same sound signature in wired mode as the version without bluetooth. Support for LDAC on bluetooth mode is a big feature too, because LDAC has such a good bitrate. You may not like the earcups though, but if that's the case you can buy a set of Wicked Cushions. They support basically all the earcups and carrying cases that support the original ATH-M50x headphones, so you have a lot of options on how you can switch the parts of these around. Also, unlike the wired version that uses a proprietary locking mechanism for the detachable cable, these wireless headphones use a standard 3.5mm jack on both ends. The cable that comes with them includes an L-bend on one end and a straight end on the other. This may not seem like a big deal to some, but if you lose the cable with these, you can basically find a replacement at a hardware store. 5 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Sound Quality! UPDATE: I had the orange version of these headphones at first and decided to exchange them and get the blue ones instead. Reason being, not to change the color but the orange headphones didn’t sound good. Idk if they were a bad set or what, but I couldn’t get the audio quality to sound good. I’ve listened to music with them on the “original” mode and other presets and they still sounded bad (like the audio was far away from the cans). The blue ones are amazing! The sound is clear and rich and I changed the bass boost preset (in the mobile app) to make the bass more punchy and it’s perfect! I also have the wired version of these headphones so I knew the orange ones were malfunctioned and I’m so glad I exchanged within the return window because this is the great Audio-Technica sound I know and love! 2 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic First Time… I decided to finally get myself some real monitoring headphones, so I can stop just dabbling, and, officially and properly, start my music production journey. These were within the price range I had set, and seemed to have such rave reviews, here on Amazon, and elsewhere. I went with the blue ones, ‘cause why not? My first “real headphones” arrived the next day. Let me tell you, these things were worth… every… cent. I have yet to actually mix anything with them, but oh, wow… they made the music I thought I had actually listened to before so much clearer and deeper. The clarity with them is absolutely gorgeous. You can hear every beautiful detail. My ears love them. It would be great to have the wireless ones as well, just so I can always be able to hear any music like this, even away from the screen. I will definitely be making good use of these. Thanks, Audio-Technica, for a great first time! 5 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, a few setup struggles (solutions below) I expect nothing less than stellar sound from Audio Technica and I was not disappointed. I did however run into a few unexpected issues while setting them up and I'm putting what they were and how I solved them here in case anyone else has the same issues.I got these for two purposes, one being Discord calls and gaming, the other video post production. The first issue I ran into while using Discord on my PC was hearing my own voice in my headphones. I didn't know that this was a setting as it wasn't illustrated in the quick start guide and I had to find the manual online to solve it. I was able to turn off the setting called "side tone" using the Audio Technica Connect app on my phone and that solved it. Easy but not intuitive if you've never used a headphone that has it.The second issue I had was if I joined a discord call while playing a game, my desktop audio quality was vastly decreased. It sounded like both my friend int he discord call and my game audio were coming from a tin can, absolutely awful. This took more research and a very useful reddit post. I solved this issue by opening the Device Manager on my PC (Windows 11) and finding the driver titled "LE_ATH-M50xBT2 Hands Free" and disabling it (it was in the drop-down menu for "sound, video, and game controllers"). This is an unnecessary driver that messes with your sound and while I don't understand why exactly, it solved the problem and I now have beautiful audio while gaming and chatting. 21 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Headphones! My husband loved them, he uses them to make beats and normal listening. Battery last a very long time, when he first got them there was no need to charge until the 3rd day of use. Will be buying him a 2nd pair!

5.0 out of 5 stars Competition doesn't compare I've used Astro A50s, Sennheiser GSP670, and Razer Opus. I thought those were all good until I received these. These are in a completely different universe than the others and cheaper than half of them. I'm hearing sounds I've never noticed before in songs I've heard dozens of times, and you can actually feel the bass in these. I feel like morty stepping outside of the true level square when i take them off, I don't want to hear the regular world. I only want to hear things with these

4.0 out of 5 stars Best For Price you cant go wrong with these headphones, but there are a few shortcoming...Pros: -great sound quality, there's a reason these headphones are regarded as one of the best in the audio business. - 3 wires included - earcups rotate and fold up, very storage friendly - comfort is pretty good, not ALL day comfort, but i can go 3-5 hours before i feel heat or discomfort.Cons - Proprietary cable, if you break one, you must buy direct from them, you cannot use third party cables ( but it comes with three as mentioned, so a very light con) and the earcups you should probably replace with aftermarket, but otherwise, its perfect 3 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing sound for the price! Fit and finish are great, Clamping pressure is just right—I can lie down for listening sessions and the phones stay put. I’m hearing subtle details in mixes that weren’t as obvious in my phones costing three times as much.Soundstage isn’t great, but image placement is outstanding, as is layering of vocals, instruments and effects. I feel like I’m sitting at the board in the control room of a recording studio listening to the mix. These cans are slightly forgiving, but the better the quality of the source material, the more these phones dissect the mix, in a good way.The phones are wonderful in the bass region, clearly delineating bass instruments from, say, the bass drum or kick drum.Great all-arounder cans! 4 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars ATH-M50xBT2 Excellent sound quality I have had a set of ATH-M50x wired headphones for almost 10 years and really enjoy the non-hyped frequency response. I also have Grado RS2 open back headphones which I prefer but sometimes I need the closed back design. I wanted some bluetooth headphones so I started the rather in depth research to decided on which model would be best. I narrowed it down to Sony, Sennheiser, Bowers & Wilkins and Audio Technica. The Sony's were the lightest and most comfortable but were too bass heavy and I had bluetooth crash issues. The Bowers & Wilkins were lovely but more than I wanted to spend. The ATH-M50xBT2 headphones I am using now have very comfortable ear cups but are slightly heavy. The Bluetooth connections are all solid. No active noise cancellation but that was unnecessary for me. The Sound is very pleasing to my old ears. Bass is nice and controlled so there is no loss of definition (muddiness). The mids and highs are clear and airy enough considering they are a closed back design (as were all of the models I was considering). As in all good headphones they need probably 30 hours of break-in to start sounding best. I just leave them connected with the wire to my laptop while music is playing. Leave the power off as it is unnecessary. Once the drivers loosen up the sound starts coming alive. Best $200 bluetooth headphones available for my ears... 9 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific value I bought these as a birthday present for my son, and I have to say I'm a little jealous now. The Bluetooth quality is excellent maybe not quite as good as my Sennheiser momentum 4, but close. However, they're just as comfortable, the controls are less confusing and easier to use, and the big thing is that if you choose to use it as a regular wired headphone it sounds excellent. This is a real weakness with the sennheisers. They just sound awful if you try to use them in a passive wired mode.Absolutely one of the best dollar for dollar set of headphones I have ever heard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Headphones and Great Company I bought a pair of M50x because the sound is a bit different (noticeable) from the M50xBT and BT2 even wired. I am really enjoying these and i got them in a Lantern glow which the color is growing on me. Company sent me the wrong pair originally and they 1 day'd me the correct pair and a label and i sent back the old pair was really easy no issues. 4 people found this helpful

2.0 out of 5 stars OK BT headphones I guess there are not good BT headphones out there that can compete with corded headphones. Does not hold a candle to my Pioneer HDJ X10's. These look amazing and do fit comfortably but I make music and these are just OK One person found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend! even though the headphones can be a bit uncomfortable at first, the sound quality and design are amazing! love the limited edition color and it’s great for music production! would definitely recommend buying if you’re looking to invest in headphones for music production.

2.0 out of 5 stars Low quality sound while wired, too much latency with Bluetooth. Unusable all around. Bought these for DJing and casual watching of youtube/movies. While using them via bluetooth there is a large delay before the sound comes through which makes them completely unusable for mixing, and watching videos I'll see mouths move and the sound come after. while plugged in with the included cable the sound quality takes a nosedive, and the cable is so short I have to lean towards my computer for it to reach me just sitting at my desk. Finding a replacement cable has been an absolute nightmare. For the price and name behind these it's a shame and I can't recommend you buy them. 3 people found this helpful

4.0 out of 5 stars great great as always these were my second pair. they were delivered in their own box though instead of inside of another box so im lucky nobody stole them when they were sitting on my porch. like, they just slapped a shipping label on the audio technica box, not cool. 3 people found this helpful

4.0 out of 5 stars Sound great, but just too tight on your head. First, the sound quality and build quality are great. If only they were comfortable, I could have kept them. They press hard on your head for any listening session, let alone a longer one. Fit will be different for everyone, so I recommend giving them a try. But if you have a larger head when it comes to hat size, you may want to avoid these. One person found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Audio-Technia, you did it again! Such a quality pair of headphones. I have had the original cord one but the new blootooth edition is great, fast, and user friendly. I highly recommend it 👌.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality headphones with great bass response! These were recommended by a friend and they did not disappoint. They are very comfortable and have great bass response. I wore them for 3 hours while producing some music and did not feel fatigued.

3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe it's the microphone I did a lot of research before purchasing these headphones. I got them for playing piano late night but I also wanted to be able to use them on phone calls. I don't know if I have something set of wrong but I get complaints when on the phone from people saying that they can't hear me clearly. Other than that I like that headphones that sound good and they switch between devices relatively smoothly I just wish I could get more from the microphone during phone calls. 3 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars I GAMBLED.... ....AND I FINALLY TOOK A CHANCE ON SOME NEW HEADPHONES TO REPLACE MY OLD FAITHFUL AKG K240s FROM THE 80s (MADE IN AUSTRIA). EVEN WITH SOME MILD TINNITUS AT MY AGE (74) AFTER ALL MY YEARS OF LISTENING, PLAYING, MAKING, MIXING AND PRODUCING MUSIC AND WITH MORE LARGER FITTING AND THICKER EAR PADS-THE SOUND ON THESE ARE BRIGHTER AND MORE SPATIAL AND THE BASS IS RIGHT THERE FOR ME. ON MY OLD KENWWOOD KR6600 RECEIVER (1970s) WITH THE AKGs VOLUME WOULD BE LOUD & COMFORTABLE @ 3-4 AND WITH THESE ATH-M50s ITS @1-2, THATS HOW CLEAN AND BRIGHT THEY ARE. LISTENING TO MY OLD VINYL, CASSETTES, AND CDs I'M HEARING NEW SOUNDS AND DEPTH IN THE MUSIC I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE-LOVE 'EM.... 4 people found this helpful
